July 2011 – Fun Ride

Howdi fellow riders!

Our Family Fun Ride on Sunday 3rd July went down with huge smiles!

212 Adult riders and 28 under 12’s on the kiddies and PW Track – no injuries, good food, great cappuccinos and that yummy all famous chocolate cake!

So Advanced Riders, how did you enjoy the U-Tube at the Kevard Adventures Family Ride?

Judging by the earthworks we found sweeping it seems like some riders spent quite some time there!

Novice Intermediate and Kiddies PW Track a hit, as always.

Quads sure did love the flowing nature of the Intermediate track, not too much dust either – what more could they ask for?

Here’s news on our next event riders:

Unfortunately we have lost the use of our venue and therefore have had to juggle a few things to keep the events going. This has not been an easy decision for us, as to recreate what we have been using calls for considerable investment and it is something we need to deliberate on. Any input from you guys will be greatly appreciated.

Sunday 4 September 2011 will be a 2-Man Team Event!

The ride will be on run from one of our loading zones, the road turnoff and venue will be very well marked so don’t stress! Sorry guys, NO QUADS, No Kiddies Track, No Novice Track and No Intermediate Track. (This is something we have been wanting to do for a long time and while we look at venues track layouts and such things the timing is right.)

Format of the Ride:

The ride will consist of one track only, comprising of easy, difficult and hard sections. You will need to have a team mate to assist you because there will be a few yes a few interesting things like trees to get over and a 2 log bridge. Craig’s Canal is in and something new, our “Toll Bridge”. Just to keep up with the many changes facing South Africans today, we will have a R5 toll bridge for those riders who can’t get through the donga. There will be at least 10 marshalled check points where you will get special stickers. All teams who return back to base with a complete set of stickers will go into the lucky draw for some great prizes, like Metzler Tyres riding goggles, a case of 2 or 4 stroke oil and two free spots on one of our famous guided rides in October.

Sounds like fun! I can tell you that this is going to be a ride of note! Don’t delay your entry as you could be disappointed.
