Season Greetings to all our loyal riders.
“What a year!”, everyone is saying. We here at Kevard had a great year with minimal injuries good events and even better riders.
Our November ride was certainly the best with a very different track layout great weather and certainly one of the best bunch of riders and spectators!
A full house booked and a few no-shows which was a pity for them as the rain of the previous day made conditions perfect with no dust tons of traction and a cool day.
Here is Jannie Smith enjoying the PW track.
The PW Track has certainly been a winner and our plans for next year is to make parts of the track a bit more challenging with easy lines to the side, something along the lines of some soft sand bigger ‘bumps’ and maybe a bridge.
The ‘foot-ups’ section was great fun with 17 riders making it through without putting a foot down. Prizes to the value of R1800 were given out to the 3 riders whose names were drawn from a hat.
The gums also provided a great deal of entertainment with some riders toiling while others wheelied up.
Life is a down hill breeze in the gums.
Photos are up and ready for viewing and ordering from this event : www.kevard.co.za – click on order photos and it will take you directly to the photographers site.
This stream crossing was interesting, from some riders causing quite a splash while others made a splash when the fell into it.
The quad track was limited to the intermediate loop this time but was still enjoyed by all. Certainly by the comments received by a lot of riders the ride format used for the November ride worked very well and so we will start 2011 off with the same approach.
Never forgetting the amazing flower arrangements in the tea hall unique at each and every effort, always new and exciting! Thanks Mom Cole!
So you get to see some stakes out on the tracking marking your route … and still we have stakes and then just for show, well let’s just wait and see how high the stakes are for next year’s tracks, mmmmmmm.
The foundations have been cast and building has started on the 56sq meter grade R classroom. For those of you who were at the November ride you may remember the auction of the Monster Energy Drink hamper. We raised R600 from the auction and then Kevard Adventures added a further R1500 to what was raised and bought 24 prizes for the Zamani School’s end of year prize giving.
Michele, Mrs. Mkwani (Zamani Principal) and Kevin hand over the prizes donated to the school. A total of 24 prizes were donated.
Each prize included an Aquelle drink, kit bag, juice bottle and a form of book prize. The book prizes varied from colouring in books and crayons for the little ones to story and sticker books for the not so little to dictionaries and puzzles for the bigger kids.
From all of us at Kevard, have a wonderful festive season and may you be blessed this Christmas.
Stay safe and remember that our first ride is early March subject to confirmation of MSA racing calendar.
