We had an awesome 223 riders on the day.
Loads of no shows – weather report said chance of showers now they really lost out as we had showers of fun on the track! The riders really enjoyed the extra long advanced route – 23.6km in all. Absolutely no rain – so no mud – just fun in the sun. (Remember you can phone us from 05h30 on the day of the ride
to check the weather conditions if you are concerned.)
A lone rider negotiates a tricky off-camber on the very advanced route.
This tricky uphill on the advanced bike route was quite entertaining as rider and bike tried to master off-camber uphills!!!
This rider could still smile even after losing his front fender.
The end of the advanced bike route had a little “sting in the tail” but some guys made it look so easy – much to the envy of the guys catching their breath at the top.
The obstacle course is still a major calling card for some brave riders:
Two injuries – a broken hand (rider was just having so much fun, his quad decided to go airborne) and a bad burn. Both guys were attended to immediately by our marshals and efficient medics who are on duty the entire day.
Resident DJ lokey took us through the 80’s and had all the riders tapping their boots while eating awesome hamburger chicken burgers and …… yes this is Durban – Bunny chows! Here is our chief chef keeping an eye on the pot.
Hope to see you all again for the BIG ONE this year.
The next ride is 4th July – Charity Fun Ride. Entries are now open on the website: www.kevard.co.za
